Dr. Davenport’s practice focuses on treating complex problems in plastic surgery, including wound care, reconstruction and limb salvage in patients with complex wounds. As director of surgical services for wound healing at Winthrop-University Hospital, he leads a weekly multidisciplinary meeting that brings together surgeons from general, orthopedic, podiatric, vascular and plastic surgery, as well as nephrologists, diabetologists, physician assistants and hospital administrators, to coordinate care of patients with complex wounds. Dr. Davenport attended Yale Medical School, followed by a residency and fellowship in plastic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He subsequently completed an additional fellowship in cancer reconstruction and cosmetic surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and was then awarded the Webster Fellowship in Pediatric Plastic Surgery, which took him to numerous developing nations to perform and teach reconstructive surgery. He was also awarded an additional fellowship at Harvard University to work at the Shriner Burn Hospital for Children in the reconstruction of burn and accident victims. Dr. Davenport has authored numerous articles and book chapters and lectured nationally and internationally on various aspects of plastic surgery, and continues to travel abroad to work with surgeons and patients in developing countries.
